Organized in 2002 as a 501 c 3 tax-exempt charitable
organization, the Foundation has an important, simple, and direct mission
statement.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Chinook Kennels Heritage Foundation is to
collect, preserve, interpret, and display historical artifacts and personal
tales from, and about, Chinook Kennels in Wonalancet, NH. Examples of
these activities include, but are not limited:
- Breeding and training of sled dog teams used in support of the Antarctic
expeditions and used in WWII Army Search and Rescue missions
- Development of canine nutrition
- The history, development and recognition of the AKC Registered Siberian Husky
- The history, development and recognition of the AKC Registered Alaskan Malamute
- The history and development of the Chinook dog
